MNA’s mission is to inspire a sense of love and responsibility for the beauty and diversity of the Colorado Plateau through collecting, studying, interpreting, and preserving the region’s natural and cultural heritage. MNA offers classes and lectures on natural systems and people of the Colorado Plateau, and a great education program for all ages. MNA’s Colton Community Garden is in its fifth year. Email Rosemary Logan or call her at 774-5211 x 222 Flagstaff Foodlink offers support in starting up youth and community gardens, local food production and healthy nutrition enterprises, and serves as an umbrella 501c (3) organization for healthy local food and nutrition-related projects throughout northern Arizona. Flagstaff Youth Gardens has started three successful gardens in Flagstaff: Colton Community Garden at MNA, Project New Start Garden, and Marshall Magnet Elementary School Garden. Arboretum at Flagstaff. The Arboretum features a botanical garden with active permaculture, conservation, and research programs. Summer internships and volunteer opportunities are available. Willow Bend Environmental Education Center. Their mission is to provide environmental education outreach services that build environmental awareness and an ethic of responsible stewardship of our natural and cultural resources. RegionalSustainable Arizona Resource and Education Council. SAREC is dedicated to the promotion of the ecological and economic advantages of using alternative energy, sustainable and alternative building materials, as well as water and energy conservation methods.
